Easterns Gives Back

Monday, September 8, 2008

When Robert Bassam started in this business 20 years ago, I can confidently say that he didn't expect to be making catchy commercials featuring local professional athletes. But planned or not, by running an honest business with some clever marketing Robert has put his company at the top of the car business and by doing that it has allowed Easterns Automotive Group to donate thousands of dollars in charity each year.

Most recently:
Every year the District of Columbia Public Schools nominates a teacher of the year as well as hold a “District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Welcome Back Ceremony” for all new and old teachers. At this ceremony they discuss the previous year’s achievements and hand out awards for their accomplishments. This year Eastern Motors gave away a brand new Hyundai to the “2008 Eastern Motors Teacher of the Year.” This teacher came from a school with at least 10 percent gains in student test scores. Eastern Motors wants to wish all teachers a successful 2008-2009 school year.
Easterns cares about the community enough to give back and make funny commercials while they're at it.
